Dean stayed in Washington for a couple of months. No new jobs came open in Civil Service during that time but he was finally offered a temporary job with Smartronix Corp. They are a government subcontractor under EDS Corp. which is handling all the outsourced Information Technology work.
He decided to take the job so that he could come home. Doing so meant resigning from Civil Service. He has career status and is reinstatement elegible, so if a job finally opens, he can always go back.
He was hired primarily to do server administration but also works shifts in customer service and the help desk. As with the contractors at Bangor, there are too few people trying to support a customer base that expands every day as more and more are brought over to the new network.
Since no one knows how long the job will last, Dean decided to go ahead and start taking Real Estate classes. With Angela working, this provides an excellent opportunity to feel out a possible new career without having to worry about finances.
Dean spent a lot of time talking with the agent that was showing us houses recently and was impressed with how his agency operated. He's interviewed with the Broker and they have agreed to take him on in either a part-time or full-time mode.
Needless to say, things have been a bit busy of late, which explains why there haven't been many updates to the old website.

Alexander turned 11 on April 29th.
We spent the Easter Holiday with Angela's family. Jackson got quite a surprise when he woke up Easter morning.

We have a wreath hanging beside our front door and while sweeping the porch the other day, Dean discovered that a bird was building a nest in it. About a week later, eggs appeared. We may regret the mess later on but we didn't have the heart to rip it down when we found it.

We took Jack to Kid Fest, which was held in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A good sized crowd turned out for the event.

He had the most fun seeing and petting the animals.

We went house hunting and found one we really liked. We made two offers on it but both were rejected. They were asking much more than it was worth so we gave up, even though it broke our hearts.
