After the kids left in July and everyone else returned home, things got down right boring around here. Mowing the yard was about all the excitement to be had during the hot month of August.
By agreeing to sit through a 2hr vacation package presentation, we got a free 4 day/3 night stay at the Hilton Grand Hotel inside Disney World. We dropped Jackson at Ang's Mom and Dad's and headed on down to Orlando. We had a great time and managed to see and do just about everything we had planned. We got a park hopper pass and spent a day each at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney/MGM Studios. A couple of nights were spent doing the Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island scene and one just lazing about in the hotel hot tub. One thing we should have planned better was the World section of Epcot. We went in the evening and ran out of time and had the park close on us half way around the lake. Part of the problem is that we went in Sept. On the plus side, there weren't any crowds, so we had the rides all to ourselves but on the down side, everything closed up between 8:30-9pm. When we went to Disneyland in 2000, they were open until midnight every night. When we go back Disney World, expanded time at Epcot is on our list of things to do along with going to the two water parks and the Animal Kingdom park.

Jackson went bouncing from door to door as Tigger this year. He made the full circuit of the neighborhood and collect a nice haul of goodies. For some odd reason, he just does not like chocolate, so Angela and I made out pretty good too.

We had two Thanksgiving's this year. We were at Angela's folk's house on Thanksgiving day. They decided to try deep frying the turkey this year and it turned out great.
The next day we drove to her Uncle's house down in Florida were we met up with more of her family and her Grandma. We brought along all the leftovers to add to the feast there.

Seems like Angela's been talking about taking a cake decorating class for as long as I've known her. Well, she finally did and like most things she sets her hand to, she produced excellent results.

We clean up pretty nice when the mood takes us. We went to the 230th Marine Corps Birthday Ball this year. That's only the 3rd time in my life I've worn a tux. Not to shabby if I do say so.
The problem with kids graduating is that you stop getting the automatic photo each year. There's no telling when we'll get new ones from Alan and Sarah. Alexander's school didn't do photos either. Jackson's photos from daycare and the ones they took at the same time as our annuals didn't turn out well so we skipped them this year. There will be the annual birthday photo of Jackson coming soon though.

Laura's having a blast
as a cheerleader. The dance team was fun but this has always been her true calling.
